VLADIVOSTOK, RUSSIA - JULY 11, 2019: Preparing an orca to be transported to the release site in the Sakhalin Gulf. Experts of the Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) begin an operation to release the marine mammals that had been kept at the so-called whale prison , from a rehabilitation centre in the Srednyaya Bay. A marine containment facility branded a whale prison was discovered in the Srednyaya Bay in Primorye Territory in 2018; 90 belugas and 11 orcas were captured in the whale prison to be sold to Chinese amusement parks; later, three beluga whales and one orca disappeared.
