  • 1977 - Former Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Prof. Dr. Ludwig Erhard, died on May 5th 1977 at the age of eighty: Dr. Ludwig Erhard who is considered as the Father of the German economic miracle carried through the currency reform in 1948 and became minister for economic affairs in 1949 in 1963 he succeeded Konrad Adenauer (Konrad Adenauer) in his office and became the new Chancellor, resigning in 1966.
