Five months after the earthquake which destroyed ninety percent of the buildings and killed thousands in the town of Balakot, little reconstruction had begun. In April, the Pakistani authorites have decided they will not rebuild what was once the picturesque mountain town of Balakot, as it sits directly on a fault line, but will relocate it. They have banned all reconstruction on the existing site.
