  • August 27, 2023, Livorno, Italy: The Humanity 1 ship, carrying 57 migrants rescued off the Libyan coast, enters the port of Livorno.The ship Humanity 1, of the German NGOs United 4 Rescue and SOS Humanity, had to travel more than 1,000 kilometers in order to arrive at the safe port assigned by the Italian Ministry of the Interior. Since the entry into force of the NGO Decree , the ports of disembarkation assigned to NGO ships have begun to be increasingly distant from the rescue zones.
