Fraenkel succeeded the attorney-general Guede on April 1st, 1962. The cause is that in East-Germany the accusation has been made that the highest attorney of the Federal Republic of Germany has taken part in passing blood sentences when working with the Reich attorney-ship in Leipzig from 1936 till 1943.
