  • The German-soviet Invasion of Poland, 1939 Lithuanian motorised troops advancing towards the Polish city of Wilno (Vilnius) after it was handed over to Lithuania by occupying Soviet forces. Wilno was a subject of a serious conflict between Poland and Lithuania before the war. Lithuania was subsequently annexed by Soviet Union just 8 months later, in June 1940.
