  • Mata Hari. Margaretha Geertruida MacLeod (geb. Zelle, 7. August 1876 15. Oktober 1917), besser bekannt unter dem Künstlernamen Mata Hari ( ?m??t? ?h??ri ), war eine niederländische exotische Tänzerin und Kurtisane, die während des Ersten Weltkriegs als Spionin für Deutschland verurteilt wurde. Professor Shipman, ein bekannter Wissenschaftler, erklärte, er glaube, daß sie unschuldig war und nur verurteilt wurde, weil die französische Armee einen Sündenbock brauchte. Sie wurde durch ein Erschießungskommando in Frankreich hingerichtet Mata Hari.
